I'm interested in how cells use quality control pathways to maintain organelles such as the peroxisome. In the Gardner lab, my research focuses on the movement of peroxisomal membrane proteins through the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). My research asks the question: how are peroxisome membranes generated from the ER, and what quality control pathways are involved in the process?
